Championship season is here, and Argonaut Nation continues to deliver across every sport. From postseason berths to national rankings, UWF student-athletes are finishing the fall strong and showing what it means to be an Argo.

Football

The Argos continue to make history.

UWF remains undefeated after a thrilling road win over Delta State, keeping their perfect season intact. The Argos also climbed to No. 1 in the NCAA Regional Rankings, solidifying their spot among the nation’s elite heading into postseason play.

Tony Newsome earned GSC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his standout performance.

Women’s Soccer

It was a championship week for UWF Women’s Soccer.

The No. 6 Argos clinched the GSC Regular Season Championship and celebrated Senior Day with a 3–0 win to close out the regular season.

Adding to the honors, Jillian Thompson was named GSC Defensive Player of the Week for her stellar play anchoring the Argo back line.

Men’s Soccer

UWF Men’s Soccer finished strong as well, earning a 0–0 draw against Alabama Huntsville to wrap up the regular season after taking down West Alabama for their tenth win of the year.

Volleyball

The Argos faced a tough road stretch last week, falling to both UAH and Montevallo despite hard-fought efforts in each match.

Women’s Swimming & Diving

UWF continued to impress in the pool, securing a pair of home wins in dominant fashion. The Argos are showing strong form early in the season and will be back in action later this month

Men’s & Women’s Tennis

The Argos wrapped up their fall season with impressive showings at the GSC Fall Invitational, where both the men’s and women’s teams shined in competition. The fall schedule closes on a high note as the Argos prepare for spring championship play.

Cross Country

UWF Cross Country continues its postseason push, preparing for the NCAA Regionals this weekend in Lakeland. After a strong showing at the GSC Championships, both teams are ready to test themselves against the best in the region.
