Hello, Argo Nation.
Can you feel the excitement in the air for Saturday’s football game? As Will Kennedy reported, a victory Saturday would secure the program’s first perfect 10-0 regular season, the program’s first outright Gulf South Conference crown and the program’s first-ever top seeding in the Super Region 2 postseason bracket. Whatever the outcome, this season has been impressive.
Impressiveness is the trend across all sports in Argo Nation as the stats stack up with triumphs and victories. But it is not just sports. Argo Nation is breaking barriers and records across all departments. We are bigger and stronger than we have ever been. These are the big moments where you watch it all transpire, and the “wow” factor packs a brilliant and superb punch. Growth happens here, and it is evident in everything we do to make Argo Nation what it is.
Amidst the celebratory moods, we pause. We let the tears fall. We tend to our broken hearts. Thoughts and prayers to all who knew and loved Cloey Criggall.
Grief is difficult no matter how good or bad things are in the world around you. You will just be going along, and BAM—grief crashes into you unexpectedly. Grief is different for everyone.
I have been battling grief and a myriad of other emotions the past several weeks. Life be lifeing and sometimes it’s hard and heavy. But still, I keep trying to show up and keep moving forward. Lately this has meant changing from my bad sweats to my better sweats.
In walking through the hard and heavy, I am learning to give myself the same grace I so freely give to others. I have been lowering the self-imposed perfectionism standards that I measure myself with. I do this by telling myself that no one can humanly possible be 100 percent, 100 percent of the time. Sometimes just showing up is half the battle. Even if that means no makeup and my better sweats.
You never know the battles others are facing. Be kind always. Check on your people.
Do your best. Make wise choices. Do not be a Karen or a Ken. Stay safe.
And remember, we are the testament of the strength and humanity of Argo Nation.
I bid you all peace, love and happiness.
Respectfully,
Megan Walters
