PENSACOLA, Fla. — A surprising development hit Pensacola on Tuesday morning when one of Nine Mile Road’s signature gas stations, Dodges, shut down unexpectedly.
Fences now block all exits, and the gas pumps are roped off. Vendors cleared out their inventory within five days. Branding has been removed or dismantled, with the large Dodges sign replaced by a tapestry.
Online, “Dodges Pensacola” now shows the location as permanently closed.
Staff declined to comment on the situation. Employees were given two weeks of pay and informed of their termination on the day the station closed.
While speculation abounds regarding the sudden closure, no official reason has been provided.
