It was another strong week for University of West Florida athletics, with several programs picking up big wins and continuing impressive spring seasons.

UWF softball climbed to No. 14 in the Week 10 National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll after a 2-1 road series win over West Alabama. The Argonauts improved to 32-9 overall and 17-7 in Gulf South Conference play, moving up one spot from last week. UWF sits third in the conference standings. The Argos return to action on the road this weekend against Mississippi College.

On the baseball diamond, West Florida earned an 11-1 run-rule victory over Spring Hill College on Tuesday at Jim Spooner Field. The Argos jumped out early with three first-inning runs, highlighted by a two-RBI single from Tanner Taylor, and never looked back. The Argos will also be on the road this weekend at Mississippi College.

Both UWF tennis teams also posted perfect 7-0 sweeps over Christian Brothers on Saturday at the Ralph “Skeeter” Carson Tennis Complex. The women secured the doubles point and won all six singles matches in a dominant performance. The men followed with a shutout of their own, taking the doubles point before sweeping singles play to cap off a successful weekend for the Argonauts.
