DESTIN, Fla. — April 24, 2025
Thousands gathered Thursday evening at the Dugas Pavilion in Destin for a nostalgic night of music as Yacht Rock Revue took the stage for one of the most anticipated concerts of the year, hosted by the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation.
The Atlanta-based band delivered a high-energy performance filled with soft rock hits from the 1970s and ’80s, including crowd favorites by Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Steely Dan and Christopher Cross. Attendees sang along, danced on the lawn and soaked in the breezy coastal atmosphere under clear skies.
The event, which began at 7 p.m., drew students, families and locals alike. Many arrived early when doors opened at 6 p.m. to claim prime spots on the grass and enjoy offerings from local food trucks and restaurants.
The concert was part of MKAF’s annual concert series and supported the organization’s ArtsReach program, which funds arts education initiatives in local schools and the surrounding community.
“This was such a fun way to unwind before finals,” said Taylor Morgan, a local college student. “The vibe was perfect—great music, great weather, and all for a good cause.”
Advance tickets were sold for $35, with proceeds benefiting MKAF’s mission to bring accessible arts programming to Northwest Florida.
