PENSACOLA, FL – The University of West Florida’s highly anticipated Colchis Homecoming Concert, set to feature Dallas rapper BigXThePlug, has been canceled due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Milton. The concert was scheduled for tonight at the UWF Field House.
University officials announced the cancellation early Thursday morning, citing safety concerns as the Category 3 storm moves closer to the Gulf Coast.
“Due to travel complications caused by Hurricane Milton, the artist scheduled to perform at Colchis on October 10 is unable to attend, and the concert has been canceled. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you continue to enjoy the other Homecoming events throughout the week.” said the UWFhomecoming instagram.
BigXThePlug, known for his hits “Texas” and “Mmhmm,” was set to headline the concert. This marks the first time the annual homecoming concert has been canceled in UWF’s history.
