Are you still searching for a “purrfect” Valentine’s Day location? Well search no further, the Coastal Cat Café is hosting a variety of events throughout the month of February in celebration of Meowentine’s Day
Whether you are bringing a date or flying solo, you are sure to find the cuddle buddy you need to get through the holiday. Feeling spurned by an ex? For $10 you can write an old flame’s name on a piece of paper destined for the litter box.
Perhaps you are feeling stressed after the holiday and need to decompress, you can sign up for the café’s yoga class on February 25. The yoga session starts at 10 a.m., but no worries if you’re not a morning person, you can order an “espurrso” or even a “catpuccino” from their coffee and baked goods menu. The yoga session will also be an opportunity to meet and play with the 15+ cats they have up for adoption until they find their “furever” homes.
The owner, Adrienne Brynteson, opened the cat café in December last year and has successfully paired more than 15 cats with their new families. By collaborating with rescue organizations like Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) and Pensacola Foster Kittens, Brynteson gives these cats a temporary home at the café and a second chance at life.
“I feel like we are severely lacking cat representation in Pensacola,” said Brynteson, when asked why she chose to start a business with coffee and cats, “There are a lot of places that revolve around dogs but not so much about cats.”
“My partner, Pensacola Foster Kittens, they do a lot of transport over to Mississippi. They are always looking for drivers and we’re always looking for volunteers as well through our partnerships with PAWS and Pensacola Foster Kittens.” said Brynteson about the efforts to get the cats spayed and neutered at a low cost.
If you are interested in volunteering or donating you can visit PAWS and Pensacola Foster Kittens online and if you are ready to book your date at Coastal Cat Café you can make your reservation online today.
