The Pensacola Museum of Art, also referred to as PMA, in partnership with the PMA Guild and Escambia County Public Schools, is proud to announce its 70 Annual Youth Art Focus Exhibition. The exhibition showcases various artworks across the Escambia County school district. Its purpose is to celebrate K-12 students and educators’ artistic achievements.
There are over 700 pieces of work from students and teachers each year, including students all the way from elementary school to high school. For middle and high school participants, awards will be given for first, second and third place in six different art categories, one being ‘Best in Show.’ In addition, educators are also judged and awarded for the same categories.
A description of the exhibition is given, “Youth Art Focus has created an opportunity to expose students to the fine art world in a professional museum environment while giving the public a chance to experience and appreciate the accomplishments of Escambia County’s Fine Art Education Programs.”
Youth Art Focus allows for the Pensacola community to band together to acknowledge students and educators’ hard work that is put into their art pieces as well as finding inspiration to spread locally.
The exhibition will be held at the Pensacola Museum of Art from Jan. 19 to Feb. 25. The award reception will take place on Feb. 8 from 5 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Free admission will be given to the featured artists, teachers and any guest of their choosing. For tickets, adults are $12, children between the ages of 3-14 are $7 and seniors are $11 as listed per the PMA’s website.
