Pensacola-based nonprofit Night Moves announced its inaugural Night Moves Festival Tuesday. It’s a new, one-day music festival taking place downtown during Pensacola’s annual Foo Foo Festival.
Headliners include Manchester Orchestra, Soccer Mommy and Built to Spill along with local bands Cavae Mundi and GLSNR who are accompanying the lineup alongside them.
The festival will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Community Maritime Park and will run from noon and will go well into the evening. In addition, a VIP show will also be held at the Handlebar on Friday, Nov. 3 featuring a more intimate set by Built to Spill.
Pensacola has felt an absence of music festivals in the area. The last large-scale festival,Deluna Fest, was a decade ago in 2013.
Foo Foo Festival handed the challenge over to the non-profit Night Moves this year and gave them a grant to fund the event.
“It is truly an honor to have the city’s support in putting together a music festival that we feel Pensacola desperately needs. It has been nearly a decade since someone has taken this challenge on, and we are hopeful that this event will be something that we can bring to the community for years to come.” Night Moves Director, Robert Goodspeed said.
The community has shown support for the festival, with the official post that announced the festival on Instagram gaining over 900 likes and 60 comments within the first 3 days.
“It’s really exciting to finally have an all-day music festival in Pensacola again,” local resident Riley Nicholson said. “I’ve lived here my whole life and have never been able to attend something like this in the city. The closest festival I’ve heard of until now has been the Hangout Festival.”
Tickets are on sale now at nightmovesfest.com starting at $75 for the one-day general admission and $250 for VIP, including access to the preshow happening at the Handlebar on Nov. 3.
