PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argos women’s soccer recorded only their second loss of the season Friday night after a hard-fought match against the undefeated Lee University Flames. The Argos now stand at 7-2-1 overall with a 3-2-1 record in the Gulf South Conference.

The first half of the game featured a hotly contested battle between the two squads as neither side was able to gain a decisive advantage. The latter half saw the Flames scoring twice in the first 15 minutes to go up 2-0.

Late in the game, the Argos had two good looks from Blair Cowan and Peyton Peffers to tie it up, but was unfortunately saved by Lee University’s goalkeeper. Kelsey Brann and Charline Favier finished the game for the Argos with one and two saves, respectively.

The last time these two squads met on the field was Oct. 13, 2019.

Following Friday night’s game, the Argos lost the tiebreaker in the all-time matchup to the Flames: four wins, five losses and two ties.

The Argos will look to bounce back in their next matchup against Delta State in Cleveland, Mississippi on Oct. 29.
