Pensacola, FLA – The Argos improved their record to 6-2 after their big 6-1 win on Sunday against Xavier University of Louisiana. 

West Florida was strong in the doubles portion of the match, winning two out of the three matches which included Karolina Silwanowicz and Samantha Echevarria, going 6-4. Irene Recuenco and Manon Meulenberg also had a win with a 6-1 finish. 

The Argonauts won five of the six singles matches over the Gold Nuggets. Berta Bonardi remains undefeated this season winning 6-0, 6-1 in her match. 

Recuenco played strong from the No. 2 position winning 7-5, 6-3 in her match and Echevarria won in straight sets from the No. 4 position.

Sophomore Raissa Wagner and Freshman Isabela Fioravanti were put in the No. 5 and No. 6 positions due to injuries and both won in straight sets. 

The Argos will next play the #1 ranked University of Indianapolis on Thursday. The match will start at 1 PM here at the Ralph “Skeeter” Carson Tennis Complex.
