The UWF baseball team was able to bounce back from a two-run deficit on Wednesday to sweep the season series against Montevallo. Their 6-5 win was secured after the team rallied in the bottom of the eighth inning to score three runs after they had fallen behind 5-3.

The Montevallo pitching did not appear to be in sync as they managed to walk 12 Argo batters. The Falcons also featured nine different hurlers on the mound, all of whom did not seem to find an answer for the Argo hitters.

Josh Pahlad started the game on the mound for the Argos, only to go two innings before handing the ball off to relievers Jared Hatch, Hunter Lucas, Jay Simpson, Dylan Mills-Derouen and Jared Middleton.

Mills-Derouen would go on to pick up his first win on the season (1-0) and Jared Middleton earned his first save of the season after striking out the side in the bottom of the ninth.

Montevallo reliever Chandler Ingram (2-1) took the loss after failing to prevent a three-run Argo rally in the bottom of the eighth.

After a two-run RBI single by Isaac Phillips gave the Argos a 3-1 lead in the third, the Falcons managed to score the next four runs through eight innings. They appeared to be running off with this one in the eighth after taking a 5-3 lead. However, they were silenced after RBIs by Mike Farnell and Mike Branch off a single and a walk that tied the game at 5.

Dylan Menhennett managed to score on a wild pitch to give UWF a 6-5 lead shortly after, which eventually ended up being the deciding outcome of the game.
