Meet The Voyager Staff: Fall 2017

Alicia Adams is a journalism major with a minor in professional education at the University of West Florida. She will graduate in Spring 2018. Alicia currently works as a full-time newspaper reporter at the Santa Rosa Press Gazette, covering events in all of Santa Rosa County. Her hobbies include hiking, writing, playing with her dog, Dexter, watching Netflix and spending time with family, friends and her boyfriend, Tyler.

 

 

 

Rachel Witbracht

Rachel Witbracht is a journalism and legal studies dual-major at the University of West Florida. She anticipates to graduate in Spring 2018 and, after taking time off to travel, plans on attending law school. Her hobbies include playing with and snuggling her two cats and drinking too much coffee. Although becoming a journalist is not a likely career path, Rachel’s passion for creativity and the truth fuels her work in all fields.

My name is Jamir Sellers, I was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida. I am a Senior at the University of West Florida. My hobbies include writing, reading, and analyzing sports. I first started doing newspaper work at Pensacola State College where I was the sports writer during the spring semester of 2016. Working with the Voyager will be of equal opportunity because I love this university and the people who reside in the community.

 

 

 

 

 

Morgan Givens

Morgan Givens is a journalism major with other concentrations in public relations and marketing, and is expected to graduate from UWF in the fall of 2018. He lives in Milton and graduated from Central High School in 2015. His hobbies include running, playing the piano, and spending time with his friends, family, and girlfriend Cynder. A big animal person, he has two dogs: Pablo and Spork. Being a passionate photographer, Morgan strives to tell stories with honesty and journalistic integrity with his images as well as his writing.

 

Anna Smith

Anna Smith is a senior Communications major and Marketing Applications minor. She grew up in Fort Walton Beach and graduated from Choctaw High School in 2013. She earned her Associate of Arts degree from Northwest Florida State College and transferred to UWF in the Fall of 2016. She married over the Summer of 2017 and is enjoying being a newlywed with her husband, Derek. When she isn’t writing for the Voyager, you can find her binge watching reality television, making arts and crafts, or napping. She is passionate about animal rights and has been a vegetarian for five years. She has a Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen named Finn and a chubby gray cat named Milo. After graduation, she hopes to work for a nonprofit and help make the world a better place.
