This year marks the 50th anniversary of the University of West Florida. As a  part of this anniversary, the university has planned a week-long schedule of events.

In April of 1965, the University of West Florida became an institution. This celebration will be one for the books. This event will be a way to bring Argos together through a variety of events. The events are as scheduled April 16-21.

  • Paint Pensacola Blue and green and flag unveiling – April 16
  • Argos day of Service – April 17
  • Argos bleed blue and green – April 18
  • UWF day of giving – April 19
  • University Park and center grand opening – April 20
  • Blue and green football spring game – April 21

Throughout the week, there will be a hashtag, #UWFFoundersWeek, that will be used on all social media sites to honor the golden year.

Argos Day of Services will include a multitude of opportunities for students to gain volunteering hours as well as an opportunity for students to help out in the Escambia County community. This day of service students, staff and faculty are all invited to participate around town with events such as park cleanups, coastal cleanups, Ronald McDonald House and many other opportunities to gain volunteering experience.

If you have any questions about the event or would like to participate in these events, visit the event’s website or contact Ben Stubbs via email
