This Tuesday, both the University of West Florida men’s and women’s soccer teams will take part in the GSC tournament.

On Saturday, the women were able to earn the 3rd seed in the tournament giving them the right to host the 6th seeded Christian Brothers at 5 p.m. at the UWF Soccer Complex.

The winner of this game will take on the winner of Mississippi College versus West Alabama in the semifinals of the GSC tournament which take place at Montgomery Alabama on Friday.

“We haven’t proven anything yet; we just need to focus on Tuesday’s match because we know our opponents are going to work hard as well,” Coach Bartlinski said.

The Argos only time facing Christian Brothers this year was on the road when the Argos won 1-0.

The men who earned the 6th seed on Saturday will travel to take on the 3rd seed Mississippi College at 2:30 p.m.

The winner of this game will move on to the semifinals to take on Alabama Huntsville at 12 p.m. on Friday in Montgomery.

The Argos took on Mississippi College earlier this season at home and lost 0-2.

The Argos best attribute this season is their defense led by junior goalkeeper Jacob Murray. Murray has made a total of 54 saves this season while only allowing 1.08 goals per game.

While the Argo’s offense has struggled at times this season, it will be important that their defense keeps them in the game.
