Chamber Music class brings the Baroque to Old Christ Church

Old Christ Church in historic Pensacola hosted the monthly Chamber Music Recital on Wednesday, directed by Hedi Salanki-Rubardt, Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Music. This month’s recital was themed “Baroque and Beyond.”

Spring breakers be warned: New rules loom as Spring Break approaches

Just two years ago, Panama City Beach was a popular spring break destination. But in 2016, Bay County officials and other law enforcement agencies passed laws that would hinder students’ ability to party on Panama City’s beaches: Alcohol can no longer be consumed on the beaches during the months of college spring break.

Last year, Pensacola Beach took a similar, though not as severe, approach.

Tour de Fort kicks off Florida Archaeology Month

On Saturday, a cloudless sky set the scene for the Tour de Fort: a four-mile bike ride around Fort Pickens.

Coordinated by Mike Thomin, a graduate student at the University of West Florida and Destination Archaeology manager with the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN), this bike ride featured numerous archaeological sites that were discussed along the tour. Some of these sites included famous shipwrecks, a Civil War battlefield and a Spanish presidio.

Center for Child Development offers UWF parents peace of mind

If you’re a parent and you are enrolled in classes at the University of West Florida, childcare doesn’t have to be something to worry about. The UWF Center for Child Development is open to students, faculty, staff and alumni, with students getting priority.
