Perfect weather brings out large crowd for Pensacola’s Grand Mardi Gras parade

Thousands of Pensacolians struggled to find parking downtown Saturday for the Pensacola Grand Mardi Gras Parade. With a high in the mid-70s and not a cloud in the sky, the weather was perfect for catching beads and eating moon pies.

Mardi Gras, also known as “Fat Tuesday,” is Feb. 28, and Pensacola is more than ready to partake in the festive traditions.

UWF men’s basketball finishes historic season with win over Shorter

The University of West Florida men’s basketball team capped off their best season since 1997-98 with a 110-103 win over conference rival Shorter University on Saturday, Feb. 25.

Review Pensacon 2017: Something for everyone

Welcome to Pensacon, Pensacola’s premier comic con. Pensacon 2017 was my fourth Pensacon, and by far the most interesting. When the lines between fantasy and reality are blurred beyond recognition, and the laws of the known universe are completely defied, the result is Pensacon.
“I have attended Pensacon since the first year,” said Angel Matthews, a local cosplayer and hardcore player of the hit video game series “League of Legends.”
